Geophysical exploration is a method of inferring underground structures and geological features by measuring geophysical phenomena. Ground penetrating radar (GPR), as a means of geophysical exploration, transmits electromagnetic wave and receives reflected wave, and obtains the information of underground material by analyzing the reflected wave signal. The use of ground penetrating radar can very accurately determine the thickness, properties and boundaries of underground geological layers and other important parameters, providing geologists with reliable data. In Shandong province, the application of ground penetrating radar helps geologists to deeply study the underground geological structure of the region, and provides an important basis for geological disaster prediction and prevention.
